Terms of Service

Last updated April 15, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or calling our API you agree to these terms. If you're using PDFend on behalf of a company, you represent that you're authorised to bind that company.

2. The service

PDFend provides a hosted API that converts HTML/CSS to PDF documents, plus a dashboard for managing API keys, templates, generations, and billing. We may change, improve, or stop offering parts of the service; we'll notify active customers of material changes.

3. Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your API keys and sign-in credentials secure.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use PDFend. If your local law sets a higher age, that one applies.
  • You're responsible for activity under your account, including API calls made with your keys.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use PDFend to:

  • Generate phishing, malware, or fraudulent documents.
  • Infringe on someone else's intellectual property.
  • Target our infrastructure with load tests you didn't coordinate with us.
  • Bypass rate limits, plan quotas, or security controls. That includes scraping private endpoints or attempting SSRF against internal IP ranges.
  • Generate content involving minors in a sexual context, or content that promotes real-world violence.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, usually after a warning unless the violation is severe.

5. Billing

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Plan quotas are hard limits — requests beyond your quota are rejected until you upgrade or the quota resets.
  • You can cancel at any time from the dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We don't offer pro-rata refunds for partial months unless required by local law.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the HTML you send and the PDFs we produce for you. You grant us the limited right to process that content solely to run the service (render, store, deliver, back up, and debug).

7. Uptime & support

We target 99.95% uptime on Pro and Scale plans. Enterprise plans can contract a specific SLA. Free-tier service is provided without any uptime guarantee.

8. Warranties & liability

PDFend is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 30 days before they take effect.
